As Official As I Get

One of my favorite things about the screenwriters' world is the lack of formality. Jeans and a nice shirt. That's the dress code. We wear a suit and we label ourselves as amateurs. I've seen Emmy-award-winning writers at Hollywood pitch festivals in what I'd wear to mow the lawn. I love it! It's their not-so-subtle scorn for the jive side of Hollywood--the ritz and glitz that working filmmakers don't have time for.
Tim and I love to sing in our church's worhip team. The band's in jeans and so are we.
Okay, I still have to move in the publishing realm, so I've kept my dresses. But this publicity shot by Sue Shetler is as formal a photo as I'll put out there. My side yard is the back drop. Thanks again, Sue!
